Indie horror studio Womp Stomp Films has announced Ghosts in the Fog, an animated fan film set in the Friday the 13th universe that will release in November 2026. The film, a prequel to the studio’s Never Hike Alone series, follows three hikers who become lost in fog and wander into Camp Crystal Lake where they encounter the ghostly presence of Jason Voorhees. Directed by Vincenti DeSanti, the project is notable as the first animated fan film for the franchise, combining 2D character animation with 3D environments inspired by the visual style of the Sin City films. Ghosts in the Fog will also appear as a bonus feature on the Never Hike Alone Blu-ray, funded through a Kickstarter campaign, while fans continue waiting for the official prequel series Crystal Lake.
