Man Charged for Allegedly Selling Gun Used in Old Dominion University Shooting
Saturday, March 14, 2026 - a2zcore.com

US authorities have charged a man accused of illegally selling a firearm to the suspect who carried out a fatal shooting at Old Dominion University in Virginia. The attack killed an ROTC instructor and injured two others and is being investigated as terrorism.

US authorities have charged Kenya Chapman with federal offenses for allegedly selling a firearm to Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, the suspect who opened fire inside a classroom at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, killing ROTC instructor Lt Col Brandon Shah and injuring two others. The FBI is investigating the incident as an act of terrorism due to Jalloh’s prior conviction for attempting to support the Islamic State and reports that he shouted “Allahu Akbar” before the attack. Officials said students in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps subdued Jalloh during the incident, leading to his death before police arrived. Prosecutors allege Chapman had stolen the gun from a vehicle in Newport News and sold it to Jalloh days before the shooting, and he now faces charges including making false statements during a firearm purchase and dealing firearms without a license.
